Alemtuzumab

Summary

Alemtuzumab is a humanized recombinant IgG1κ fragment which binds to CD52 on the surface of malignant and normal T & B lymphocytes, NK cells, monocytes and macrophages.  Alemtuzumab's proposed mechanism of action is antibody dependent lysis of leukemic cells.  It's primary indication is in the treatment of chronic B-lymphocyte leukemia in patients who have failed alkylating agent and fludarabine therapy.
